How we broke the rules of alarm-company branding

Look at the names of alarm companies. Protectia. Segurmax. Escudo24. Vigilia Plus. All with a shield. All named like a bank vault. All talking about burglars, fear and what might happen to you.

And almost all of them with the same thing underneath: a monthly fee. When Amomir landed on our desk, the easy road was to become the fifth shield on the market. We took the hard one.

The name

We called it Amomir. “A mimir” is what Spanish kids say when they’re off to bed. Yes, it’s a bit of a joke. And yes, more than one person thought it wasn’t serious enough for a security company. That’s exactly the point.

Nobody buys an alarm for the sake of owning an alarm. They buy it to sleep soundly. The product is peace of mind; the alarm is just the means.

“If your whole industry looks the same, looking like it is the most expensive way to go unnoticed.”

Berta Pérez, product designer at Doko Studio

The story

So we built everything from there: a story and an illustration system centred on calm. No little shields. No burglars in balaclavas.

And a story with a clear villain: monthly fees. Paying every month for something you’ve already bought. Stop paying and the protection stops too. What a con.

No fees

Amomir has no fees. Customers pay for the equipment and installation once, and that’s it. The brand doesn’t hide it in the small print: it puts it in the headline.

The result is live at amomir.es. Have a look and tell us whether it resembles anyone else in the industry.

What it costs

A brand like this starts at €3,600: name, story and visual system, designed so nobody mistakes you for the competition. Do something different, or get lost in the crowd.
